For most of my adult life, I’ve noticed that many, if not most “Christians” have been consumed with “end times” discussions.  Many others are distracted with prosperity preaching, hoping that they can become rich, but still try to remain within the parameters of a focused Christian?  While still others are diverted with various “make me feel good preaching” that refrains from the “proverbial arrow” convicting ones heart message.  To me, the aforementioned are some of the reasons many “Christians” continue to struggle in their walk with Jesus.  The focus of what God wants us to delve in, has been scattered by the wayside, or at the very least, slipped to the back of every preachers notes.  I don’t believe I would be out-of-line here by saying;  We, being all Christians, should get back to what God really wants from his children.  Matthew 22:36-39 Says this: “Master, which is the great commandment in the law?  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”  So, if you need to refocus yourself, your priorities, now is the time to show where God stands in your heart!  Forget about all the side shows, the money-making preaching, the feel-good preaching that won’t let you really know that you are separating yourself from God.  We are to be content with what we have.  Hebrews 13:5 Says this:  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”  And don’t be distracted with all the fear that goes with the discussion of the “end times.”  2 Timothy 1:7 Says this: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  No more need to struggle and be distressed, for God wants us to love Him with all of our heart…a sincere heart!  Where do you stand?
