In Mark 7:8 Jesus said, “For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.”
Mark 7:9 He said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

Jesus pointed out to the scribes and Pharisees that they were blindly following their fathers traditions, and those traditions weren’t even from the law of Moses, but man-made traditions that had nothing to do with Scripture. Remember to follow the word of God and not man! Always check the word of God to see if the traditions you keep and follow line up with the word of God since it has already been laid out for us.

2 Thessalonians 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.
