One thing I have come to understand when reading the Bible, like a puzzle, you have to search out the pieces, and gather them together, and put them in groups according to edges: sides and corners, and by colour. Then, as you are starting to assemble the puzzle by placing each piece in their proper location, you will begin to see the puzzle coming together, piece by piece showing what the picture will become. Pray for revelation before you read the Bible for understanding.
And just like the verses of Scripture, you first begin to read each book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse. Then you read again, only this time, you learn to start to glean the word of God, chapter by chapter, verse by verse until the word of God starts fitting together and ultimately speaks to you by the Holy Spirit, showing you what each verse means. The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth.
However, unless you have the Spirit of God in you, you will be in the dark as to what the truth and meaning of the word of God is. You will lack the knowledge and understanding. All you have is interpretation, a fallacy, a deception. God’s word is not to be interpreted.
But first, remember to pray for revelation, understanding and knowledge of the truth of God’s word!
