What does it mean to be converted as little children? If we don’t, we shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven? I wonder how many are actually aware of this?

Matthew 18:1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

Matthew 18:2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,

Matthew 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Many simply believe that if you just believe on the name of Jesus, you will be saved? If you just believe that “God sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”, you will be saved? And if you just “call upon the name of the Lord, you shall be saved”?

However!

If that was simply the case, then why must we all be converted and become as little children or we will not enter into the kingdom of heaven? To simply believe is simply not enough. We know that to ‘believe’ requires an ‘action’, To Do Something. Like in this case, to become converted and become as children. To humble ourselves, to come to God as a child, as a child would? To come to God without any inhibitions, to free ourselves from pride, from feeling embarrassed, from feeling shameful. To free ourselves from doing something that we wouldn’t normally do? To free ourselves from our own hindrances, things that stop us from coming to God because we feel that doing such a thing is below us, or feeling that we are above doing something that we look at as being beneath us? To free ourselves from feeling that we are better or too good to do things that we are uncomfortable to do? This is Pride! God despises pride. In other words, we must come to God as little children, without any cares whatsoever. As children would play and not think about who is watching them do whatever they may be doing? So, are you ready to come to God as a child? What is hindering you from coming to God fully and completely? There are so many more things that we must do once becoming a Christian than just believing? Faith without works is dead! Our salvation doesn’t end at just simply believing, it actually begins there. We must Keep His commandments, love one another, do all you can do for the less fortunate and so on…Are you there yet?
