Repentance-The old formula still works

Why do Pastors, Preachers, Evangelists etc. continue to regurgitate a repetitive ‘sinner’s prayer’ when that is not in the Word of God? In fact,  Luke 3:3,4 John the Baptist, came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins; As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.”  This being what God the Father had intended, instructed and commanded him to do.

Repenting-the first step in the process of being born again, followed soon thereafter by being baptised in the Name of Jesus! The problem with repeating a so-called ‘sinner’s prayer’, the individual is focusing on hearing what to repeat, in lieu of himself falling to his knees as a broken soul reaching way down inside and crying out to the Lord God in a contrite manner asking for forgiveness as you also confess of all your sins.

The whole main point is, each individual must, on their own accord come to God, (broken) and repent from their old way of life, asking forgiveness of their sins, and then directed to be baptised soon thereafter. Each person must come to God in a broken, contrite and sorrowful state. Otherwise, by repeating some ‘sinner’s prayer’ that isn’t of God, that person shows no remorse or sorrow. The most important step is being removed by inserting a ‘sinner’s prayer’. We must all come to God in a sorrowful, tearful, groveling state, which comes from a sincere heart. Most everyone I have ever seen repeating a ‘sinner’s prayer’, while standing with many other people at the front of the stage/altar do not show any “remorse worthy of repentance”? One must “bear fruits worthy of repentance”. Then, once the repeated recital is performed, the Evangelist then states that the person has been born again, NOT SO! Being water baptised is the first step in being born again, once that person has repented! God is not going to change the way He has commanded it to be performed.

The problem today is, Repentance is not being Preached like it should! People are not getting pierced in the heart upon hearing the Word of God, which they need to hear, thus stimulating a remorseful and contrite spirit needed for repentance! Preachers, Pastors, Evangelists etc. need to repent themselves from adding and annulling the Word of God! We must get back to the Way it was prepared in the first place! The old formula still works to get the job done! Personally, I see the ‘sinner’s prayer’ as blasphemous. It is diverting away from the Real Way God had planned it. We are not to add or subtract from the Word of God! In essence, we are saying that the Way God had commanded it to be done, is no longer valid or the way it should be?! Man has simply changed the Word of God to man’s version of how repentance and being born again should be done?! This ought not to be!
