Keeping Scripture in context is half the battle in understanding exactly what God’s Truth is. The other half is praying Diligently to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ our LORD and Saviour for Revelation, Enlightenment, Truth, Knowledge and Understanding of His Word. Perhaps even fasting may come in to play if needed to receive the Truth, Revelation, Enlightenment, Knowledge and Understanding if you do not receive (any of the above) straight away?  But in either case, praying for the Truth and Understanding of God’s Word comes with Faith! The belief that you will receive this from God, from a sincere heart! Not listening to man, or from reading a book that man has written 50, 100, or 500 years ago, but through the Holy Spirit which will guide you to all Truth!

KJV John 16:13 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”

NKJV John 16:13 “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
KJV 1John 2:27 “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.”
NKJV 1John 2:27 “But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” Here in
KJV James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
NKJV James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
Here we can see that if we want Wisdom of His Word, Knowledge, Truth, Understanding, and Revelation, we must pray and let the Holy Spirit guide us to the Truth of God’s Word!
Now, regarding the Antichrist as spelled out in the Book of 1John. Providing you follow the Scriptures above, as well as others,  you will find that all people, such as Atheists, Agnostics, Nonbelievers in general, and anyone not abiding in the Truth of the Gospel, are all Antichrists! But as for the One, Singular Antichrist that the world is looking for, well, that happened prior to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD, as was told to the Apostles by Jesus Himself!
KJV Matthew 24:1 “And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.”
KJV Matthew 24:2 “And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”
KJV Mark 13:1 “And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!”
KJV Mark 13:2 “And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”
KJV Luke 21:5 “And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,”
KJV Luke 21:6 “As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”
*Okay, we know that these Scriptures pertain specifically to the temple buildings in Jerusalem of that time.*
KJV Matthew 24:15 “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)”
KJV Matthew 24:16 “Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:”
KJV Matthew 24:17 “Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:”
KJV Matthew 24:18 “Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.”
KJV Matthew 24:19 “And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!”
KJV Matthew 24:20 “But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:”
KJV Matthew 24:21 “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”…
Key phrase, very important:  to this time
In context, this phrase is referring to “that time specifically”, that a great tribulation would not occur ever again, not since creation, nor after that time!
KJV Mark 13:14 “But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:”
KJV Mark 13:15 “And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:”
KJV Mark 13:16 “And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.”
KJV Mark 13:17 “But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!”
KJV Mark 13:18 “And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.”
KJV Mark 13:19 “For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.”…
Same Key phrase: unto this time
Again, referring to that specific time that a great tribulation has never occurred since creation, up to this time, and never again!
KJV Luke 21:20 “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.”
KJV Luke 21:21 “Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.”
KJV Luke 21:22 “For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.”
KJV Luke 21:23 “But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.”
KJV Luke 21:24 “And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.”…
As we can see, after their captivity in Babylon, they were commanded to come back to Jerusalem to rebuild the city and the temple. The rebuilding of Jerusalem and of the temple was in line with prophecy that the temple was to be rebuilt a second time!  Then, Jesus became the New Covenant and prophesied that the temple was to be destroyed a second time, and that the people were to be dispersed, (scattered) throughout all the nations of the world for the second and last time! Jesus became the new covenant, the prophecy from the Old Testament that came to pass in the New Testament that would eliminate animal sacrificing, the tabernacle: including the priests and all the accompanying furniture and utensils and rituals etc.! Jesus became the Sabbath, for us to keep in Him everyday, thus eliminating the Old Testament law of just keeping the Sabbath on Saturday by doing nothing. But now, we keep Jesus as the Sabbath daily with our faith and what we can do through the Holy Spirit i.e. witness to others, pray daily, fast, attend the assembling of fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ, and to simply walk and abide in Christ daily while arming ourselves with the spiritual armour of salvation, hope and the Word!
Personally, I believe that the Antichrist was Nero, based on Scripture, and primarily what history has shown.  Nero perfectly fits the timeline of that day. I’m not saying that Nero IS the antichrist, but I am saying that I personally believe he was, my opinion only based on Scripture and history. When you see what the Scriptures says, as in Luke 21:20, “when you see Jerusalem surrounded with armies, then know that the “(desolation)” is near”  Which is, (the Abomination of Desolation), the antichrist standing in the holy place!  Well, that happened then, and then the destruction of Jerusalem ensued soon after. Thus, fulfilling the prophecy and what Jesus Christ told the Apostles would happen. 70AD. Now it is up to every individual to accept that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross, was buried, and rose on the third day! Salvation comes only through Jesus Christ, not the keeping of any former laws or works!  But through Faith in Jesus Christ our LORD and Saviour!
