In Revelation 21:2, John describes seeing the New Jerusalem, which in another Scripture measures at 1500 miles wide by 1500 miles deep by 1500 miles high, coming down out of heaven, (Revelation 21:16). There are some that believe that this New Jerusalem will be resurrected here on this present earth when Jesus comes to reign during the millennial reign, (a thousand years)? However, both beliefs are incorrect. As Jesus said, John 18:36 “Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.” Jesus is currently ruling and reigning now, ever since He ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Throne of God! Which of course symbolises a King ruling and reigning. If His kingdom was not for that time, it is surely not for any future time here on earth, since He said, “that His kingdom is not of this world.” His kingdom will not be of this world at any time! But for now, His kingdom is now, within us as He is ruling and reigning now, Luke 17:21  “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”

The vision John is seeing about the New Jerusalem, is regarding the end of the age, end of the world, when Jesus comes for His bride, and takes His church to inhabit the new Holy City on the new earth that He created, along with a new heaven, (Rev. 21:1).

What John is seeing in this vision is a glimpse of what is to take place when Jesus comes for His Bride, the Church, the Saints that endured to the end. The New Jerusalem, the Mansion that is to be built for us, the body of Christ, that Jesus was talking about in John 14:2-3, is the New Jerusalem that will be awaiting us on the new earth that awaits for those of us that have been born again, baptised in water, filled with the Holy Spirit, loved God with all of our hearts, soul, mind and strength. Also, for all of us that have endured to the end, have persevered, have displayed the godly love to our neighbour, and that have lived a holy life without blemish, (Ephesians 5:27).

These are descriptions that we can imagine, that we can put our human thoughts to, however, in reality, everything will be spiritual and will not be of this world. Remember, we will have no memory of this current life we live. Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Once that transition takes place, when Jesus comes at His second coming, and we will all be changed at the blink of an eye, there will be no need for any remembrance of this old past earth. It will be forever changed, living forever with God in the form of Jesus Christ, but even Jesus will have a new name as we all will have a new name. Revelation 3:12 “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.”

My whole point here is, to remind, to inform you all not to be deceived, not to swallow everything you hear that may sound nice, cool, right, smooth, articulate or whatever? Read the Word of God for yourself and pray, and request that God the Father reveal, and confirm the Truth to you in the name of Jesus Christ our LORD and Saviour! For we must all be of one mind in one Spirit of our LORD Jesus Christ!

All honour, glory and praise to God our Father and to our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ!
